Our Metals
Gold filled is not the same as gold plating. Legally, there must be at least 5% solid gold, and gold filled is 100x thicker than any plating process. Gold filled has all the benefits of solid gold because it offers a good balance of durability, affordability, and appearance. It is more durable than gold plated, but it is less expensive than solid gold.
Sterling silver is legally required to be 92.5% pure silver, and is harder and more durable than pure silver, making it better for jewelry durability. It also has a brighter, shinier finish than pure silver.
Texture & Shape
The basis of Betsy’s signature aesthetic is the integration of hammered metal. Representing beauty in imperfection, this element adds texture and personality. Hammered metal enhancements are in the form of a circle or oval, signifying unbroken glory. A circle symbolizes the essence of eternity, unity and wholeness. Ovals epitomize rebirth and continuity.
